I think the ones that are squishy and mold in your ear are best. Take a look at decibel levels on them as well.

Question. Can you bring your own earplugs?

the test centre provides you with brand new ear plugs! part of the $250 exam fee ofcourse!

you cannot bring anything into the test center other than the clothes on your body and your ID. They even give "test center approved" tissue papers ;)

i actually used ear muffs for shooting...you know, the kind that people use when they shoot guns at a gun range. i found those to be the most comfortable and most effective for me.

of course they won't let you bring that into the exam but they won't let you bring your own ear plugs either.
