All right here is the update.

Final score Q 47 V 38(ugh) total 690

When I set out to conquer the GMAT I put the goal of a 680 in front of me, but my past performance on the GMAT simulator has made me a little greedy.

So maybe I will even set up a poll here.

Here is my background. I have 3 degrees already, two in theatre one in English, I am a former Fulbright fellow, and can show mastery of verbal skills quite readily with the help of spell check. I have a condition similar to dyslexia, which has always impaired my grammar and spelling skills.

I believe that 690 is quite a respectable score, and although my competitive gut screams out, retake the damn thing, my more sensible side says, hey its good enough for the admin to have a looksee. If they do not like what they see, I am not sure how a 740 would convince them.

My target school is UVA Darden. What do you all think.

About the test. I knew I was doing great on the math, but then got a couple of questions that I miscalculated my time on, and had to complete the last 5 problems in 5 minutes, which apparently I did not do too bad on.

My verbal I felt really really good about. I only felt confused on a couple of problems...clearly I was wrong. This is the lowest score I have ever received in verbal, but as I mentioned above, my verbal skills have been enough to be awarded serious grants, and have about a 3.8 gpa in my Literature degree (including some classes at Cambridge England).

Awaiting feedback.

Darden's average GMAT score this year is 678; median is very close at 680. I'd say you were in good shape, particularly because of your quant score. Put those wonderful verbal skills to good use writing powerful essays, and don't give the GMAT another thought. That's just my two cents on the subject, but I think I'm right on this one...

To me that comes with
1) a good night's sleep
2) a strong belief in yourself and what you are doing.
3) remembering the people who stood with you in the course of your preparation. (for e.g. your spouse, parents or close friends, etc)
4) closing eyes and taking some deep breaths if you get tensed.

The above are not sure shot ways to a great score but do help me immensely. :-)

Ditto.

Grats man!!! While the score is not a 700+, the split is very nice.
