I haven't posted in this forum before but did learn a lot from the other posts. I wanted to post my 2 cents to add to the great info already there from others that have taken the test.
I took the GMAT last saturday in Concord NH. For people in the area, this is a great center with very responsive and considerate staff. I have been preparing for roughly 2 months on and off due to work load. My weakest areas were SC and DS. I specifically worked on those areas (Kaplan only). I found the material very useful. The rules are very helpful.
For people taking the test: get some rest and stay calm. The pratice material available to everyone is sufficient for the test, its really the nerves that need to be controlled on the day of the test.
One question for the experts on the forum: I have 5 years of experience and a year as a group leader in a Biotech company. I am a Ph.D. ChemE. I am applying to all the top B-schools (HBS, MIT, Stanford, Wharton). I don't know if I am just sinking $1000 applying to these schools or if I have a real shot. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
