Hello,
I'm new to this forum and would like some advice. I'm scheduled to take the GMATs on December 1st but I feel like I'm not ready. I have been scoring in the mid 500s in my practice exams but I have been aiming for a 600. I already took the exam twice - 450 twice (I'm so embarrassed). I'm afraid that if I don't do well this time around, it won't look good to admission officers.
Should I take the exam next week and hope to get a good score to apply for this year? Or should I cancel my appointment, take a prep class and apply next year?

Clearly, you are best placed to decide this based on whether you have to apply this year.
Since you appear to be open to the idea of applying later, I would recommend deferring the attempt.

I agree w/ collegesenior. U dont seem like ur going to hit 600 if ur only scoring in the mid 500's. U could, but its very unlikely.
I def. take a prep course w/ MGMAT or something. Ul score ur 600 then. get it done right.
