Scored a 610 yesterday with a 44Q 29V. I had never scored below a 33V in any of the practice exams including the one I took before my Manhattan Gmat prep course. I guess the positive is that I have a lot of room to improve. I counted 17 or 18 SC's yesterday which is my weak point. It was always my understanding that you should get between 13-15 of each question type. Is this wrong? I think had 17, 12 and 12...Anyway, I need to start over for SC. Anyone have any good ideas on learning how to diagram a sentence? Have been studying for about 4 months and reading this message board for about 6. First post though. Thanks in advance.

For SC, the recommended book is Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction and Powerscore GMAT Sentence Correction. As for Critical Reasoning, use Powerscore LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible.

I did badly in Verbal too and now focusing on these 3 materials. Good luck Jin

jin...i am giving it next friday.....i have given two gprep and score 570(q44,v23) first and 640 (q47,v 32)in second...though i thought i did bad in quant and well in verbal....plz tell ur exp....though i got sc mostly correct...but screwed one rc completely...is it bcos of initial weightage of prob?god knows how the scoring goes....reg ur sc....i wud suggest jus follow manhattan sc....i have read it 3 times....and improved my sc considerably....follow the sentence structure....i am sure u will improve.....1 week...any suggestions?how was the rc/cr..moreover in my gprep i got only 2 sc in my 1st ten.....starte doff with cr and rc which i am weak compared to sc...what was ur pattern?

jimmy u gave gmat?how was ur exp.....jus 1 week...kind of tensed....next friday giving it...any other useful suggestions for verbal....

I fumbled in my Verbal. Lost concentration after a tough fight in Quant. It was downhill all the way in Verbal esp in RC and CR. You need a lot of practice for GMAT. I am using those books mentioned above + 1000 questions. I need to practise more before I am ready for a resit.

Just shoot any questions you don't know in this forum. Plenty of experts to help you.

Go for the test and do your best :D

Hello, I believe you need tutoring to determine your weakest areas.
I believe that the series of tests are important once you got the basics. Even if you are a hard working student, you might be able to memorize the different patterns and improve at some degree in standard tests such as Kaplan, Princenton a so on. However, your weakness will arise once you face completlely new questions in the real test.
