Even though I haven't taken the GMAT yet and still a freshman in college. I regret what I didn't do for my SAT. Here is my suggestion.
-DO NOT HIRE A TUTOR <--- Biggest waste of my money ever for SAT. :/
-Get yourself a notebook <-- =] Those 5 subjects one
-Use one book and finish it! Then start the next one!
-DO NOT TIME yourself when you are doing the questions. This is just practice and understanding the questions and how to get the answers.
-Commit 2 hours to the book <-- I don't know what your schedule is like.
-Look over the answers you got RIGHT and WRONG. <-- Write how you got the answer right. The other how you got the answer wrong. Write your strategy how you are not going to let that bully question trick you again.
-Review again, until you memorized what you did, learn, and found the secrets to doing better.
- =] Don't forget to give yourself a pat on the back! And blast some music for completing 2 hours!
-REPEAT for other books.
-Find another book with full of GMAT Questions. This time TIME YOURSELF. =]
-Repeat yourself again. What you did right and what you did wrong, look over your strategies etc etc etc
-Take the REAL GMAT test
I hope this helps! :] Cuz I'm going to be doing the same thing in the summer! Fun fun fun!
Goodluck! Don't give up! You did not fail yet! You just haven't find a way that works best for you yet!

I really want to get 550 in my GMAT. Please give me your suggestion. My Math part is fine but verbal part is horrible. I studied about three weeks for my GMAT and really want to start my MBA in fall 2008. I feel like to commit suicide cause i bombed my gmat 3 times.
