Today is the first time I've seen these forums so I haven't seen what you've said before. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this:

"Overall score-wise: high verbal/low quant > low verbal/high quant. I think if you reverse the percentiles, you'd get somewhere around a 51/32 which hovers around 700"

Could you possibly expatiate for me?

Thanks for the congrats from the two of you. You're too kind.

Great score. Congratulations. It meant that v is weighted more than quant, i think.

I don't think verbal is weighted more it's that people who take the test tend to do better on the quant part. So your overall score is going to be based on what %tile you end up in in both sections.

If you get a 46 in Quant it is 79% but a 46 in verbal is 99%.

I think this score can be improved "significantly" (from 97% to 99%). Your verbal score is solidly locked, but a q42 has alot of room to improve. If you have nothing better to do and $250 laying around, I would say go for it.

also, that score is more than enough for UCLA or USC, you might want to consider stanford.

It's simple. Bschools are trying to limit those who score high on Q and low on V.

Check out this thread for Q + V breakdowns

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Overall score-wise: high verbal/low quant > low verbal/high quant

I think if you reverse the percentiles, you'd get somewhere around a 51/32 which hovers around 700.

Nonetheless, congrats on a great score.

You're definitely right. I got the same verbal score as the OP, but 4 points higher on Q (46; 79%). Despite that, I only got 10 points higher on the combined score (750; 98%). So a 10 percentage point difference in Q scores only changed the combined score by 1 percentage point.

I wish I could have that score on the 2nd of June. The big day is arriving and I am feeling that I am not prepared enough.

Congrats on your great score!
