I would like to improve my quant score to 48+ from the low 40s range and need some suggestions from the GMATClub experts.
I took the GMAT last year and did okay -- low 700s. My score was very lopsided though, with verbal carrying the day. My quant score was < 80%, and I believe this is what kept me out of school this year (the weak economy did not help). I majored in liberal arts and can score very high on verbal without any practice, but I am extremely rusty at quant. I believe that I am capable of scoring well on the quantitative section because I passed both the first and second levels of the CFA, which present some complex and tricky quant problems in the finance, accounting and derivatives sections. These are at least comparable to GMAT quant difficulty.
This is what I used last time:
OG & OG Quant
Kaplan 800
MGMAT Quant books / practice question banks
I think the major problem I had with quant is that I had a weak base to start from. In some areas of the quant material, I could ace the hardest questions I could find (Kaplan 800), while in other sections I did much worse. I need a COMPREHENSIVE source for quant that can teach me the basics from the lowest levels up so that I don't have any holes in my knowledge base going into the exam -- does anyone have any suggestions?

I would say that you should just roll through all of the OG11 problems. When you get a question wrong, make sure you understand why you got it wrong....but do not stop there. Mark the number in the front of the book so you can revisit it a few weeks later to MAKE SURE IT STUCK WITH YOU. I really do not think you need more than that if you are having an OK time with tougher problems.
P.S. Low 700s is not just "OK", its great! But the 80/80 percentile split is really a great place to shoot for. I barely made it with 89thV, 81stQ!

sudden - try the gmatclub challenges. A Q score can be improved by effective practice. MGMAT quant books are pretty good as a source (but you already have them).
you should stick together!
