Wow I didn't realize there was such hostility. All I can offer is thanks and gratitude but if thats not good enough then forget about it. I didn't realize a simple post required something in return.

For someone with 500+ posts, this is disappointing. How does this help anyone? Of all the people, it is members like you who should be setting the example.

Ouch. I think they're just speaking back and forth in jest. We need a [jest] [/jest] function. Maybe.

With that said, I'm still around 1.5 years after my gmat b/c I've gotten so much from this website and now I want to give back.

jlola21, one advice I would give you is to look up the debrief of people who achieved your target score and emulate their study style. With regard to your "nagging." Be patient. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.

gmatnub, what more can you ask for than kudos? I was MIA when this function was added and I need to catch up!

i would say give a crack at the gmat-challenge questions..the best part is if you get em wrong you can discuss it here on the forum..what better way to improve?

remember when you go up 1 level above..you will make mistakes..you learn from them and move up the levels...

no mistakes..means ..you are not progressing..

so go for gmatclub challenges..and post the ones you dont get!

Hi everyone - thanks so much for the feedback, I will definitely utilize the GMATchallenges from now on.

My post was definitely a sarcastic one, with using words like nag, "love it" ect - I am usually just joking around so please don't take it personally. I just wanted to post for some advice becuase I finally got out of my post-first gmat slump this past week. So I am definitely not trying to bite the hand that feeds me, I just didn't realize I was actually pissing people off. I also don't think my post warrented a nasty reply.

So from now on I will only ask GMAT questions, I'm not trying to take advantage of the site, I was just down recently and was hoping for some confirmation of my strategy and some motiviation tips. So I'm done.

Thanks
J

Common people, I was only kidding. I am just responding to jlola's attempt at enticing the boys by saying that the boys/nerds really love to help out a girl. If you are going to post a sarcastic comment, please give your readers enough credit to think that they can understand that you are joking, and prepare for similar responses.

Realistically, what do you think that I was expecting? $1000000000000, a brand new car, a private island, or personal attention?

LOL ok, then completely my fault for misunderstanding. I didn't realize you were joking! I may not have the dough to give you a new car but I can bake a pretty mean lasagna.

Am I advanced enough to do the Math GMATclub challenges? I'm hesitant to start cramming for those and being overwhelmed..
I would say so. I personally improved my score from a 43Q on my first attempt to a 48Q on my second attempt primairly practicing with the GMAT Club challenges. These timed practice sets are a great way to train your patience and concentration. If you don't want to deal with the timing just yet, you could always partition each challenge into thirds and just work through each set at your own pace. Then when you feel you are comfortable with the level of difficulty you can start working with the timer.

Does this sound like a good approach? Should I pick up some more books? I've been through all the MGMAT except for RC, and have been through most of the OG11. I'll be taking the GMATPrep and PowerPrep tests - alternating them. I need to reinstall after each time I take them, correct?
I would say put more emphasis on the OG11. Do all the questions in that book including the diagnostic test. Repeat all the questions if necessary. These are real GMAT questions that appeared on the real GMAT in the past. As far as the GMATPrep and PowerPrep goes, I'm not sure if you have to reinstall after completing each set. I just reset each test and consistently got new questions with each goaround.

Come on, I know there are a ton of nerds on this board that would like to help :-)
Hey now, some of us geeks and/or dorks don't like to be called nerds
