thats a trick question :P

it'll depend on how you do in RC and CR :)

but seriously - I think 75% hit-rate should be good enough

as 1 data point - my hit-rate for SC is around 65% (from Gmatprep tests) - and around 80% for OG11 SC section - I ended up with a 44 verbal

Thanks for the feedback. I totally hear what you are saying. :-) I have been improving in CR (I'll have to go back and see what my hit rate is there), but RC is definitely my weakest area of the three.

Do you think if I'm scoring 2/3 for three short passages and 2/4 for one long passage (as of my current skill level, these seem reasonable), combined with 70% hit rates (too be slightly more conservatively) in each of SC and CR would be sufficient to hit my goal of a 38-42 Verbal score?

Cheers-

Yes, from my experience, I would guess that if you can get your overall hit rate to be around in the high 60s% you should be able to get in the high 3x for your raw score - but I would try to bring your RC hit rate up - I remember there are 2 threads on this forum with people's strategies on how to attack RCs - try those?

I remember from GMATprep I missed from 8-14 questions and scored 41-44. Thats a 70-80% hit rate - but as you know the difficulty level of the questions, the experimental questions, all could play a role.

Thanks so much. I'm trying to pick up the RC a bit. I'm shooting to take the exam early August. I'll keep you posted!
