I took the GMAT this past weekend and scored a 620 (40Q, 35V). My target is 700+. I thought the math was harder than that of any the practice tests I've taken. The GMATPrep wasn't too indicative of my actual score - I scored a 700 (44/41) on GMATPrep. I should be good at math (math/eng background) but for some reason get tricked or flustered by simple questions.
I tend to try to keep each question to ~2 minutes, and I did guess on a few questions that I was running too long on.. Also, I was a bit weak on a few elementary concepts like overlapping sets and statistics. At least I know a few topics I can improve. I've also started on the
GMATClub tests and hope to learn many of the GMAT 'tricks' from the club problems.
The verbal seemed similar to OG and GMATPrep. I studied sentence correction, etc. beforehand and didn't think I had missed many questions on the test. However, my score showed differently.
Anyone have any tips for improving my scores? I really dont want to be surprised next time I take the test.
Thanks in advance..
