1 week is plenty of time to sharpen a few weak points.

Take the gmatprep 2 or 3 times this coming week as suggested. Make sure you understand both right and wrong answers.

If you crack 700 on either of the retakes you have a fighting chance.

Hi! All,

Thank you so much.

I am quite weak on SC and time management in the verbal.

I will do couples times of Gmatprep and try to improve as much as possible.

I will post my test experience later.

Thanks again.

I just did the GMAT prep 1 again.

690- Q 48 V 38

I did a little better on math this time. I only have 2 repeated questions.

There are around 6 questions repeated in this time. I am not very sure if I did better in verbal.

I will need a 680+ for my application.

Good luck to everyone.

All the best for your test. I would say that you should try to get as many rights as possible in first 10-15. But try not to spend too much time. Every question is important, but first few are slightly more important.

Good on you for sticking through with it and giving it a go! I will add to everyone else's comments....... just relax breathe and realize this is not the end of the world.

I also had my exam this coming weekend. 25th Oct, but after my Gmatprep 660(Q47,V34) I decided against it. I have a lot happening at work this week and I just don't think I will be able to dedicate as much effort for it, plus its my birthday this week which will definitely mean consumption of copious amounts of alcohol. However I do think if I could focus on the exam I could sharpen my butt here and there.... so go forward and conquer!

Good luck!

Yes. I did finish both sections.

I did the GMAT prep 2 for the 2nd time yesterday.

710- Q49 V 38.

I finsihed the math just in time and 5 mins left on verbal. However, this is my second attempt and it saves me some times on the reading. So I need to improve my pacing to keep up with the question esp. i the verbal part.

Tarmac. Thanks for your advice. I do hope that I will make it through.

I nvr scored lower than Q46 in any practice test.

The questions are very similar to GMATprep.................

I am going to sign up for the 2nd shoot.

Well the nerves can get the better of anyone so breathe!

How was the verbal? You mentioned the exam was very similar to G Prep, is that for both the parts, or maths only?

I am assuming from your reaction that you freaked out during the exam and ended up spending too much time during Q and thus did not get the score to par with what you expected!

Did the gmat club challenges from this forum help?

Let us know what you thought you did wrong and how you are planning on resolving it.

Cheers,

I think I did very bad in the DS question. I made some guessings which I seldom have to do before.

The difficulty of math is very much like the GMAT prep. I got harder questions in the beginning. But I felt that I've got easier question in the middle and I am struggling upper and lower in between. I made some rush guessing due to time concerns. At the end, I felt that I 've got a pretty easy question which affects my confidence.

In the verbal, it is quite easy but it's probably due to my bad performance. I was so nervous and I even felt my heart pounding. Geeuz. i really had a bad feeling after the Math section.

I don't fancy to get a 700 but I really hope for a 660-680.
I need to relax from now on until my test date in Nov. I didn't sleep well last night and I even swang my neck. It's a bad sign.

I will try to do at least 3-4 CATs a week in order to train myself to fit in the test environment.

I was always a good test taker and I had nvr been so nervous in my whole study life.
I might put too much pressure on myself which is a big NONO for GMAT. The more I think, the less I get.

It's not the end of the world. Even I have to take it 2nd or 3rd time, I have to do it.

Don't worry too much. Your brain thinks like mine :-) The moment I get easy questions, i start feeling that I am doing it all wrong .. and that affects me, and instead of thinking of questions and RC's , i start thinking at the back of my mind about the scores and that it must be going pretty low to get such kind of questions. I have moved my gmat once ahead, its on 13 nov now and i am nowhere close to good scores. I dont want to move it ahead again... some body , so you have any ideas of how to settle down the mind during exams to not to judge the scores based on the questions ???? i can't help it once i start the test ... so i am really worried of how to combat that feeling :-(

Gmatsickness, you are not alone in this boat. So dont worry, lets prep hard and give our best shot next time. Atleast now you are familiar with test environment.

yes. Gamecode.

There is so much things going on in my mind during the test.
" This one is so easy. I must did sth wrong"
" What had happened in my maths?"

Because I want the good score so bad, I cannot do my best.

I really have to learn to relax and let go.

And it is closed to the MBA application round 1 deadline and round 2 will starts soon.
So I have to finish my GMAT asap.

Anyway, I signed up in NOV 27. I will give one more shot.

Wish every good luck. I will keep posting my practice progress.

It can be frustrating to know that 700+ is within your reach and just that sometimes nerves get to you... yeah it happened to me (GMATPREP 700+ but I blew the real GMAT).

Work hard together. I'm gonna retake too.

After a week fo shock, I am back to this game so called cracking the GMAT.
I was in a bad mood for couples days due to my first GMAT attempt.
OK. It's the time to stand up and do it again.

I did the Mgmat test 1 yesterday and tried to figure out my weaknesses.

MGMAT 1: 600 (Q39 V34)
I did the full test with AWA, Q & V. I will continue to do the essays to adapt to the real GMAT.
I figured out that my math skill is not solid enough. This may be why I scored low in the real GMAT. The math in GMATprep may be easier. The Mgmat Math is very hard and time consuming. I am running out of time and I have to pick the answers randomly at the last 10Q. Mgmat V is too easy when comparing to the real thing.

I borrowed a math excercise book from my friend. It's a book about basic math. I want to do sth which will not related to GMAT but it will improve my math skill. I revised Unit 2 which is about %.

I also did the GMAT Club test M07 today. It's very hard.
I 've got 25 out 37 correct (66.7%). Made some silly mistakes but good to know that now. So I can keep to improve myself.

I am 28 this year and I don't think I will wait for 1 more year to apply for schools. I want a career switch so it's about the right time. What I have to do now is to get a good score in my coming test date on Nov. 27. No matter what the result is, I have to move on. I have sacrificed a lot for GMAT. No personal life. No hang out. No favorite TV shows. All my mind was occupied by GMAT.

I won't give up. I will continue to do 1 Gmat test and revise 1 math unit every day.

BTW, thanks for this community provided my GMAT club. It's always good to know that I am not alone. PPL here are super nice and cheerful. Thank you, every one. Good luck to every one, too
