580: Q 47 , V 23

Question

Hello Friends,

How are you all?

I have just appeared for GMAT and score 580 (Q47,V23). I know score is very low to apply for any B school but I do not wont to go for GMAT again because of time constraint and project burden.
I have few questions regarding MBA school.
Do I have any chance for admission in MBA school? if yes then for which school I should go? Is there any chance for scholership in any mba school?

My background:
10th standarad : 91% :Non English Medium
12th standarad : 84% :Non English Medium
B.E. Computer Sciend: 70% Aggregate : English Medium
Work Exp: 3 years of Expr in Top IT(Java) industry - India

I love to join USA school- Ny region or Uk School , for march or may 2009 intake.

Please help me to select my mba school.I am desperate for MBA

Btw vishal, most of the schools have deadlines in nov/dec ... you'll have to apply soon .... Plus most of the US schools require a TOEFL score (IELTS for UK) .. so you will have to take that test ASAP .....

I have almost same GMAT score, similar experience and work profile as you have. On first October I met few B-School representatives. They said that 580 is lower limit for middle order universities so they feel that I sould go for next attempt. Scholarship chances are really low in this cases because at least 650+ is required to manage decent aid.

If you are interested in UK schools with less strict GMAT requirements you may check this thread:

I don't know about particular scholarship rules in those schools, so cannot say whether you have a chance to get one. Merit based scholarships usually require both high GMAT and GPA, while need based are granted depending on your profile. Also, there might be scholarships for particular countries or employment industries. But in any case, you need to research the schools to find out more. Good luck to you!
