Appeared for GMAT today got pretty average score 690 - Math 50 and Verbal - 33
I was not scoring good in verbal on GMATPrep also, it was 28 -33. But I just appeared for test in hope that may be just by chance if I get over 35 in verbal I will able to get my target score - 720. But by chance that chance didn't happen and I got what i deserved

.
I started preparing on first week of November. After 2 weeks of preparation my score on GMATPrep was 680 (Q - 50, V -30). After that I kept on reading and learning but my score never improved on verbal. The issues I face on verbal are -
- I realized that for verbal my mind doesn't work like it works for Math. I am generally guessing the answers and always short of time.
- When I started preparing my accuracy for RC was 50% but I realized that it dropped during last few tests ( dropped to 20 %. During last few days I realized that I am doing almost every question wrong in RC)
- CR is strong part for me but just in comparison to RC and SC . And I do take avg 2.5 minute for CR question.
- SC - although 70 % of my 2 month preparation was on SC but my accuracy for SC also is not that good - 60%. And particularly GMAT have a completely different kind of SC questions - generally the lengthy sentences confuse me.
- On RC and CR if i find any new world that breaks the concentration ( and being a non-native speaker I generally find many)
- Timing is big killer for me on verbal. My accuracy drops severely on timed test.
The things I didnt do right were -
- I didnt prepared any
error log. I thought I will learn just with reading and practice. This time I will do that for sure.
- My basic problem with RC is speed and not knowing meaning of all the worlds. If given 15 minutes time and after looking meanings of words from dictionary my accuracy for RC is 80%. I thought this will improve with time. I prepared a list of all the new world I faced and I learnt about 350 new worlds.
For my preparations I followed following books -
- Manhattan SC - 3 times
- OG11 - 3 times (except math sections)
- Notes from PShahil
- Spiedy's notes
- Kaplan book (once)
I am planning to appear again in June. Could anyone please tell me what should I do differently this time so that I get my target score ( for second attempt I will raise it a bit - 740). I believe if I keep on reading the way I was doing there is not much probability of getting any better score.
Thanks in Advance.
