I got a rude awakening today.
The B-school I'm applying to requires one to take an internal diagnostic test as well as the GMAT.The test is different from the
GMAT, but it's also divided into the quants and verbal sections. It's not computer based but a mixture of writing and multiple choice. The total duration for the test is 4 hrs.
I took this test today and I left the test room with
my tail between my legs.I was really humbled! I could not finish the quants section and this was purely because of silly things like failing to quickly compute simple things like 19 + 17 . My brain seemed to
intermittently freeze. Because of that, I failed to pace myself correctly. I'm really worried about this because my GMAT is on Monday the 19th of October. I've experienced those "brain freezes" when I get confronted by some really hard CR questions and sometimes it just feels like my brain has stopped working. I almost have to "break" for a minute or so and "re-engage".
I'm not sure what it is, but I think I panic or stress too much about time when I start. I really cannot afford to have these black-out s come GMAT day. I know have the aptitude to do well, but I'm really freaking out now.
What are your thoughts guys?
