Hi,

I had a very bad experience today. I scheduled my GMAT appointment today but unfortunately i was not allowed to write exam just because name given in the registration process is different from the name present in my passport just by a space. As a consequence my time and money have totally gone vain.

Name given in registration : SREEHARI TIPPANA
Name on my passport : SREE HARI TIPPANA (space in my first name)

This is the second time i scheduled my appointment and i haven't updated my name after my first appointment, interestingly i was not objected in my first attempt but this time i'm not. Terms and conditions says "the name should match exactly as it appears in ID proof" i totally agree....

But my appeal is "why can't we have the id details be mandated on GMAC website while registering itself". If we had this facility these kind of issues would have been avoided.

My second appeal is why can't we have the full name scan instead of part of the name.

Two more aspirants were rejected because of the same reason today. I really felt very sorry when the guy who was rejected, pleading the TCA as he resigned the job to prepare for GMAT and there is no slot available for next 30 days.

My sincere advice to all of you is " PLEASE CHECK YOUR DETAILS WELL IN ADVANCE BEFORE YOU APPEAR FOR THE EXAM". I hope my experience saves at least few aspirants efforts and money.

oh god sorry to hear that...BTW why don't u talk with GMAC guyzzz, drop them a mail
i mean just a space in ur name should not restrict you from attempting the exams, it's totaly unfair.
if you have attempted the paper before they can match your vein impression and things other than that
becuase i think GMAC maintans their database....

My suggestion would be that atleast try to talk to them and show that you have previously attempted with the same id

I am sorry to hear that. But I am wondering about my own name now. When registering, I only specified last and given names. not the middle one. Would that be a problem?

TusharVK , I think its in ur best interest to call GMAC to check

the name in ur passport should match the name u used to register for the test, if not try updating ur name in ur profile on mba.com , also try calling GMAC.

I am not an expert in the field, just my 2 cents..
