I did Paper test and CAT'S test on consecutive days. I had found that I was doing well with hard copy rather with CATs. No I did not sleep well on previous night.
By the term "mind blind", I want to express my situation. I was just not able to understand the questions and started to feel that I am loosing the day. I tried enough to concentrate but failed.
Mainly I lost concentration totally and finally I answered last 5 math question and all verbal one question even without looking it. Just clicked to finish the exam.
I don't know what happen to me on that day. I don't want to repeat it again. I need your suggestion for my next preparation.

Thanks
Pradip

hmmm. did you try taking the 8 minute break after math to clear your mind a bit? I think splashing some cold water on your face or get a drink wouldve helped ease it a bit. When i took mine i went on all the breaks even if i didnt need it just to calm down and "relax". If you think the reason for the mind blind is the question then you gotta work out more questions to get more confidence. I am not sure how or why you carried the same thought to verbal though...

I would suggest you take all 6 MGMATs and 2 x each of 2 GMAT Prep tests, but in actual time frame and with AWA part.

Probably the hardest part of the GMAT for me is timing and doing the 4 hours of pain. But the test is the way it is so you have to work around it and practice so next time you take GMAT you and your brain are ready for that.

Also, use GMAT timer when you practice and try to do groups of questions before looking at the answer - this will get you used to solving many problems one after other...

Again, I think practice CATs will be key to your suceess. Also, be aware that GMAT is only one part of your application and that you can always take it again - so do not freak out during actual test.

Best of luck to you

My two cents:

Reading Comp - this is a core skill and is very difficult to improve quickly. The BEST (and IMO, easiest) way is to simply read... read everything from books to magazines to websites. Ideally, you should try to read grammatically complex pieces that challenge your levels of vocabulary, grammatical structure and composition. So stay away from gossip mags, gamer forums and such. Try scientific publications (dry, I know) and historical texts. Chances are that if its boring, its good for you :o

Endurance - this applies to all parts of the test. The best way to adapt to prolonged pressure situations like the GMAT is to reproduce the testing pressure as accurately and frequently as possible. Take as many CAT practice tests as you can find! Clear your desk/table and have someone time you so that you feel the pressure. SLOWLY build up to taking full tests with no breaks. Think about conditioning your mind in the same way that you'd condition your body for an athletic endeavor.

Hope that helps...

Thank you very much my friends ..... Yes I understand that the concentration and energy are the key factor for D Day performance. I will follow your suggestion. I also find GMAT Club. The SC/RC/CR/DS/PS forum are really good.
Thank you again ................ :-D
