Friend, I have two things to say to you:
1: 670 on the GMAT is a very decent score.
2: if you are planning to take the exam again then at least give your self 6 weeks of time.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I think this is the vote of confidence I needed to move forward with the application process. It's definitely a hard pill to swallow - I was so focused and set on achieving that 700... I'm sure a lot of folks here can relate :-)

Now I need to change gears and maintain the mindset that a 30 point difference probably won't make or break me. I just hope my story is interesting enough and I tell it well. Bring on the essays!

As a side note - GMAT Club is great. Sometimes I feel like I'm neurotic, the way I obsess over all things gmat and mba related... I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Thanks!

I personally feel that you should not go ahead with a 5th attempt. Some people are just not good with standardized tests. You may be brilliant yet not do well in standardized tests. I would suggest you start working on the application instead. You can explain the average GMAT score through your essays.

Too many attempts within a short span may not be a good idea. I am not suggesting it will hurt your application but I don't think improving your score by 20 to 30 pts in each attempt would strengthen it either.

That's one reason you can take GMAT only 5 times in any given 12-month period.
