Hi All,
I have scored 690 in GMAT with 35 and 48 as sectional marks in verbal and quant respectively. I really dont know what to do now.
I am planning for fall of 2012 which means i will be applying sometime end of next year. These are my stats:
-> 1.5 yrs of experience in an Indian IT company as of now.
-> 3.3/4 GPA in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
-> Decent extra curricular record in secondary and junior college level.
Should i write the GMAT again? If i dont, will even stand a chance if i apply to schools which are ranked among top 40 to 60 globally.

are you on target of the school's GMAT ranges? if you fall in the middle or upper middle then i wouldnt bother. but if you are toward lower middle and you know you can get some more points then go for it.

I think it might be advisable for you to retake the GMAT just in case. You fall into the growing trend of Indian IT applicants applying to B-School. To differentiate yourself (to just show that it's not all math and no communication/verbal skills) you might want to bring your score up to a 40+. But I feel like you should first research the schools you want to apply to, look at their median or 75th percentile GMAT scores, compare yourself and then decide based on that.
Also, you mention extra curriculars from college level. I would suggest you involve yourself in some activity outside of work (something you enjoy doing) so that it doesn't look like you're talking about ECs from 3-4 or more years ago. Hope this helps!
