what is your target score? it seems you may not fully understand verbal topics in a consistent manner. you could try some online courses but it is up to you. I think you need another point of attack on verbal if it is still not good after 2 tests - if you use the same method you used to prep verbal as you did after test 1 it *might* not work well. For me I tried self study on verbal first time around and didnt do well - then i tried knewton and it "clicked" for me - may or may not work for you...

it's okay. just keep working. perhaps you should start working on your English Grammar by using different books that cover basics. i felt that toefl preparation helped me a lot in tackling gmat problems.

Really? In what way?

I thought that the TOEFL is much easier than the GMAT? At least it used to be a lot easier than the SAT.

A million $ question

How many RC questions you got right during your GMAT Prep attempt & actual GMAT?
I believe its RC which back fires too badly during actual test.

ladidadi,

The good news is you can make some solid progress in the verbal section. You should be easily able to bump your score to around 33-34. Beyond that it all depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put up.

It appears that you have already identified your weakness (RC, CR). All the best.

Thanks all for your replies. I am now thinking to put in money for Knewton's score. I am targetting 700+ score that would mean increasing verbal from current to 36+. Can any one tell me any strategy or is it worth putting money for Knewton?

well i went from 48/29 to 49/39. basically quant stayed relatively the same but verbal jumped. I know I owe much to knewton since I didnt use any new learning technique or new material (besides extra questions) during my Knewton class. I did the 2 class per week program that lasted a month and half or so and i took it about 2 weeks after for a total of 2 months prep time from 1st to 2nd test. I believe you will surely get to 650+ if you follow knewton but here comes the tough part - if you do get 650 you will be unsatisfied and wont get your money back but it might be the "best" way to go if you are applying for next year and the prep time will prob take 2 months so that pushes your gmat exam to september. With your goal in mind I would worry less about the 50 pts and compare the services. Knewton is definitely the cheapest but the other more expensive services might also be right for you..

As shaselai said Knewton might help you boost your verbal score. Their RC and CR questions are quite close to the real thing. But then again you might get a 650+ score and not be happy.
