I'm looking at LBS and have heard mixed things about it. On one hand, it does pretty well for finance jobs in London and even Asia. But people have told me that its' easy for Americans to get in and that its student body is quite unimpressive. To what extent is this true?
I don't think it's that easy for Americans to get in, as they only represent about 10% of the class. As for the student body, schools like H/W/S seem to have a more impressive one, or maybe they just get more exposure.
It depends what you determine high-caliber. I think that a Harvard/Stanford is more prestigious. A better comparison for LBS would be about a #10 US MBA program, but that is just my opinion.
Is it an impressive school? Yes, I think that it is a good school.
