There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
1) I have found out from Kellogg that u can self report ur transcript and once admitted or called for an interview show ur originals or notarized copies.Bottom line u don't have to worry abt getting transcripts all the way from India.
2) That's possible, but online is obviously faster and more reliable. Not sure if a reco can be uploaded into their site. May be someone else knows. I am planning to have my recommenders do it all online.

This is weird. How can they be sure that the guy typing is the same as the guy recommending? Do they send a link?

I mean notarized copies
Yes they send a link to the email u provide. Offcourse every college performs a thorough background check including contacting ur recommenders etc before finalizing the admission offer.
IMO, most of the schools won't conduct background check for each admitted student. Though the application, interview and data sheet reveals alot about you and ADCOM can make it out whether a person trying to impress them or he presenting to them what he actially is!
Though I don't know schools that conduct background check for each student!
