I have 3.8+ GPA, 3.9+ finance/econ major. 680 GMAT with 42 math (66% yuck) 40 verbal (91%). I expect 5-6 score on AWA. I have all A's in calculus and economics classes and even had award winning independent stats research in college; will these factors offset math score?
I have 4-5 years of experience. Ran a financial planning business for 2.5 years for a fortune 500 company and currently work with with a fortune 500 company managing client relationships. I have extensive volunteer experience from college and tutored immigrants after college but for only one year.
I am interested in consulting with a focus on accounting/finance. I expect stellar recommendations from clients and managers, and I am confident in my essays. Do I have any chance at schools like Chicago, LBS (my dream schools) and target schools like Texas? Any other recommendation for target schools?

The most risk-averse path is to retake the GMAT- that way the issue becomes moot (of course, that might not be feasible for you).
Some other schools that come to mind are Columbia, Harvard, and Penn (if you are interested in Chicago you should consider these three as well). NYU is another school to look at and perhaps Dartmouth.

How solid is the university that awarded the high marks for calculus, economics and statistics ?
That would be my question if I was looking at an application.
If it was top tier and I had access to a recommendation from the university, I would put the GMAT down to random fluctuation and go with the GPA.
If the university was not well known and accessible to me now, I would be concerned that the GMAT was "right" and the GPA was "wrong".
