Fair enough, but if the GMAT is wrong it is easy to fix.
In general: It is far better to deliver exactly than argue equivalence.

As for school, without getting into specifics, it is a recognizable university with sat score avg of around 1200-1300, and a Tier 1 ranking according to us news rankings. Would it be a better to get 1 academic referral (my mentor who helped with thesis/independent research) and 1 client/manager referral versus the traditional 2 recs from managers/clients?

I am thinking of taking test again but a lot of deadlines are approaching. Also it is tough with work schedule. I figure I just need to work on math as my rc/cr skills can carry my verbal score. Can I send apps for round 1 or 2 and hope for higher score in Nov or early December?

Thanks for input.

In general, two work references would be more useful to your application than one work reference and one academic one.

For the GMAT, check with the specific schools to see when they need the GMAT and in what form you can report the score.
