Hi:
I am curious.
Is it better to have recs as :
1.) Direct Supervisor (Interaction: current)
2.) Peer at my company (Interaction: current)
3.) Peer at my company (Interaction: current)
or
1.) Direct Supervisor (Interaction: current)
2.) Peer at my company (Interaction: current)
3.) MIT Senior Lecturer (last face-to-face interaction: today at MEng reunion and before that 1998 during MIT Masters Program. some e-mail interaction interspersed in between).

I generally look for the following from a letter of recommendation (regardless of the source):
1) It is a persuasive narrative of why you are a strong candidate
2) It consitutes a meaningful marginal contribution to your application (i.e. it tells the admission officer something valuable that is not provided by other elements of the application including the other letters).
Thus, I would include the professor's rec if it provides it both persuasive in its own right and provides greater useful info. than that provided by a second peer letter.
