Hello Hjort:
I have been in the forum for a while now...since I started the preparation for GMAT..
and now, i have finally come to what seems the end of the journey.
only 2 admits so far for round 3 :
T-bird and Notre Dame, both with 50% tuition discount.
now the question is:
which school is better regarded internationally?
which one is better for career placements?
I know it sounds silly, but my parents (Chinese living in Argentina) have never heard or neither of the schools, and to be honest, many friends in the US, haven't heard of T-bird at all, only Notre Dame because of their Football team.
well, looking forward for your advice.

Thunderbird is probably the better known international MBA but Notre Dame is a far more widely known academic institution in the US. There is so much more to Notre Dame than a football team, it is one of the most respected undergraduate universities in the US (easily in the top 50 all all types of undergraduate institutions in the country), one of the most respected universities in the Midwest, and one of the most respected Catholic universities in the US.
They both have strong alumni networks, with somewhat different foci (Thunderbird probably has the stronger intl. network and Notre Dame the stronger network in the US).
Notre Dame has enjoyed far higher placement stat.s, although this might be related to the visa status of students at the two schools.

I am also more inclined for Notre Dame.
in fact, I am worried about some of the rumors about T-bird.
A Gmatclub forum member passed me a link to some postings on Businessweek that made me worry a little about the real situation of Thunderbird.
well, I still have hopes to get admits from the other schols I have applied for: UCLA, DUKE, HAAS, Stanf.
hopefully one of those will have a positive reply.
i still hope to see what are the opinions from GMAT CLUB members.
