Hi guys, I am new to this forum and find it very helpful.
I am a senior in college and planning to attend graduate school after I graduate in May 2007. I am interested in both Finance and Economics. I have been doing some research on some possible schools. I am currently double major in Urban Planning and Economics and my GPA is 3.7. I was just wondering if any of you guys could help me with school selection. Since I haven't had much real work experience, I guess my choices are limited. But I have found some schools that do not require much work experience and feel free to comment on them.

Syracuse University- Finance
Baylor- Economics
Oklahoma State University- Quantitative Finance Economics
Illionis Institute of Technology- Finance
University of Arizona- Finance

I have to ask- why do you want to pursue graduate studies immediately after finishing college?

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I want to be more specialized and work in the field of finance and with my undergraduate degree in economics and urban planning, I might have difficulties in looking for jobs related to finance after I graduate.

Actually I have been struggling to pick the best option: go to graduate school or go to work. I guess I am more toward going to graduate school since I think the stuff that I have learnt in my undergraduate education has been too general.

You could also consider London School of Economics.

It is too late to apply now but applications open again in October. They offer
Msc in Fin and Eco
Msc in Eco (also 2 yr research)
MsC IN Accounting and Finance

The major investment backs accept undergrads from a wide range of backgrounds including non-quant ones ln the humanities (e.g. Comp Lit, English, etc.). Thus, your grounding in econ should more than suffice for these firms. Of course, there is nothing wrong with investigating your options for graduate school. We have compiled a long list of MS Finance and MS Econ programs on GMATClub that might interest you as well.

I think I have kinda made up my mind. I am applying several programs and see if I can get accepted and will decide later. I really like the programs at Oklahoma State University and University of Arizona. What kinda GMAT scores would get me into the programs? And what are their reputation like in general?
