Let me also take this opportunity to thank you for running an unbiased and informative site. I've been lurking for a few weeks and have gathered enough information to ask the appropriate question. A quick rundown on my background...
I am planning to apply to b-school for Fall '08. Subsequent to graduation in 2003, I worked for a bulge bracket investment bank within asset management from the Summer '03 through Spring '06. I then transitioned to equity research at a boutique bank, but due to a multitude of factors (responsibilities, management, etc), I'm not happy in my current seat. My question is this: Assuming I begin b-school in the Fall '08, how do the top schools look upon holding three positions within a five year period? I am curious if it is worth 'sticking it out' for another 18 months, or to search for something that would be more meaningful to both my sanity and my career in the interim. Do the elite and ultra-elite schools frown upon moving around during the time between undergrad and grad school?
I imagine I could explain why I had made the decision to leave my second seat after only ~9 months, but, on the whole, how is it viewed?
Thanks for the input...
