Hi Hjort

I have a question regarding 2-year MBA programs in the US. Is it possible to finish the 2-year MBA progeam in Harvard, Wharton, or Chicago in 1.5 years by not doing the internship and instead taking electives during the summer ?

I other words, Can use the summer as a substitute for the last spring semester of the program ? If not, by how many months can I cut the program by taking as many classes as possible during the summer ?


I really can't afford being 2-years out of work and I don't need the internship as I'm returning to my same job after getting my MBA. I know Kellog has a good 1-year program, but I really want to get into Harvard or Wharton !

You might want to consider Columbia's 2008 intake. There are also many european 1 year MBA programs.

Alternatively, you can enroll in a 3 year PT MBA and keep working.

PT is not an option for me as I live overseas; I'm an international student and there aren't any good MBA programs in my country.

What's so different with the columbia program ? is it a 1 year program ?

Yes, Columbia has a 1 year accelerated MBA program. I think Cornell might have one too.
