Thank you both for your replies. You are right, I will only focus on the positives of the school than the negatives.

I was really down for the past two days because after that incident, I felt that all the hard work (and money!) I was going to put into getting in a program was going to go to waste. I even stopped studying for my GMAT. I gave it a few days to think but now I think im in better shape. Im going to try to visit School A and get another opinion.

Thank You both once again!

Maybe the person needed a little more tact, but their goal is to enroll as many people as possible, but do it ethically. In all honesty, I would rather have someone point out the negatives of the program up front rather than gloss things over and then the program not be right for you. I don't think any admissions officer would steer someone away from the program i they thought it was a fit.

I just think that if you are representing a school as an admissions officer, you need to represent the school in the most objective way possible. I expect to hear negatives either from current students or alumni, because they really have nothing to gain or lose, unlike the admissions officer. Or even going on forums such as this. If an admissions officer is giving me negatives and being "upfront", then for each person I tell, they can tell another person and so forth and so forth and thus all the negatives about the school are out in the open.

He hasnt seen my GMAT scores or asked me any other information about my background, so he wouldnt know whether I was a fit or not. I just found the experience odd, especially since this was at a general MBA admissions forum and not a formal interview.
