What is the area of triangle ABC with sides AC = 15 and Side BC=4/5*AC.
(1) Side AB = 9
(2) If a circle is drawn with segment AC as a diameter, then point B of triangle ABC lies on the circumference of such a circle.

What is the area of triangle ABC with sides AC = 15 and Side \(BC=\frac{4}{5}*AC\) ?
—> \(BC = (\frac{4}{5})*15 = 12\)
(Statement1): Side AB = 9
Now, We know all sides of the triangle —> we can find the area of the triangle
Sufficient
(Statement2): If a circle is drawn with segment AC as a diameter, then point B of triangle ABC lies on the circumference of such a circle.
—> ABC triangle is right-angled triangle. Hypotenuse —15
Sides —12 and 9
\(The area = \frac{12*9}{2} = 54\)
Sufficient
The answer is D

Question Stem information: AC = 15, BC = 15*4/5 = 12
1) AB = 9
All three sides are known, hence, a unique triangle can be drawn, the area can be found out.

2) Since AC is diametre and B lies on the circumference of the circle, hence the triangle ABC is a right-angled triangle with right angle at B. hence, a unique triangle can be drawn, the area can be found out.
