Stmt 1: x + y = 5, does not give us a way to find (x + y + z)/3, hence insuff. Eliminate A,D
Stmt 2: y + z = 7, does not give us a way to find (x + y + z)/3, hence eliminate B.

Combined: we can only get either x-z or x + 2y + z, but cannot find (x+y+z)/3, hence insuff, eliminate C.

Option E
