What is the quotient when .25% of 600 is divided by .25 of 600?

(A) 10
(B) 1
(C) .1
(D) .01
(E) .001

.25% of 600 => (25/10^4) × 600 ------ (i)
.25 of 600 ==> (25/10^2) × 600 --------(ii)

We are required to calculate (i)/(ii)

{ (25/10^4) × 600 } / { (25/10^2) × 600 }

= 1/100
= 0.01
So the answer is option (D)
Hit kudos if I did right.

(A) 10

(C) .1
(D) .01
(E) .001

.25% of 600

$$= \frac{0.25}{100}*600$$

$$= 1.5$$

And,

.25 of 600

$$= \frac{1}{4}*600$$

$$= 150$$

Quote:
the quotient when .25% of 600 is divided by .25 of 600?

$$= 1.5/150$$

$$= 0.01$$

Thus, the answer will be (D) 0.01

This question is ultimately about 'decimal shifts', so if you recognize the concepts involved then you don't actually have to do too much math to get to the answer.

To start, since we're dealing with multiplication and division, the "600"s are irrelevant; they could be replaced with any number or even the variable X....If we did that, we would end up with...

(.25%)(X) / (.25)(X)

The X's cancel out, leaving us with...

(.25%)/(.25) =
.0025/.25 =
25/2500 =
1/100 =
.01
