Of the answer options available, we need to check
which option is the smallest value possible for the expression |10 – x| − 4

At x=10, the expression's value is |10 – 10| − 4 = 0-4 = -4(Option A) and is the smallest possible value.

To get a smallest possible value of |10 – x| − 4

Minimize |10-x| but it will be always positive, hence bring it to 0. Look at all ans options we have all positive except one.

Sub x=10 then -4

Hence A

10-x has to be minimum possible value for the expression to be smallest. mode can't be <0 so minimum absolute value possible is 0 (when x =10) so.. expression is least = -4

To minimize the value of |10 – x| − 4, we want |10 – x| to be as small as possible. Because any absolute value expression can never be negative, we see that the smallest possible value of |10 – x| is zero. Thus, x must be 10, and so the smallest value of |10 – x| - 4 = -4.

Mod is always positive

So min value under mod is zero

Minimum in equation is -4

In the given question we can find the smallest value of the equation if we can find the smallest value of the | | and we know smallest value of | | is always 0.
so smallest value of equation is =0 - 4 = -4 Only.
