It's an E.
Statement 1: the number can be 6, 12 or 18 ...
Statement 2: again it can be 12 or 18.

Both together.. it can still be 12 or 18.

So E.

(1) n can take values 6, 12, 18, 24, 36....not sufficient

(2) n can take 2*3^2 or 2^2*3 ...not sufficient

E

Hi,

Question: What is n= ?

Condition: N is a positive integer

Statement 1: Prime factors of n are 2 & 3
n = 2^a* 3^b
a and b can be any positive integer
So, Not sufficient. Cancel options A & D.

Statement 2: Number of factors of n is 6
n=x^a*y^b
x,y,a,b can be any positive integers. Not sufficient. Not B.

1 + 2: Implies n = 2^a* 3^b, where a and b can take the value of any positive integer. Hence, Insufficient.

Answer: E.

Hi das.sushmit
in 2 it is given that (a+1)(b+1) = 6
i think you missed the second point "Number of factors of n is 6 "
