1) n^2 + n^2 = n + n
2n^2 = 2 n
n^2 = n
n^2 - n = 0
n (n-1) = 0

n = 0 or 1

2) -n^2 = n
n^2 + n= 0
n (n+1) = 0
n = 0, -1

from i and ii, n = 0

OA is C.

A question:

In stmnt 1, we get:

n^2 + n^2 = n + n
2n^2 = 2 n

At this step, why can't we just divide by 2n on both sides to get to n = 1 ??? Would appreciate an explanation :oops:
