First about me:
WE - 65 months as of today in small business and middle market lending for a regional bank in the SE USA. I have been promoted and work in multiple locations. I do lead team meetings but have no direct reports.
GPA - 3.16 Finance major at a regional public school in NC (Appalachian State University)
GMAT - 710 total (66% Q, 96% V)
Other - Volunteer work with the United Way, Board member of local red cross chapter, summer abroad summer session in Germany while in undergrad, Service fraternity in undergrad, avid amateur tournament golfer and runner, extensive international travel experience.
I'm looking to transition to management consulting, management rotational program, or non-profit management.
While in business school I would like to be able to take part in an international consulting project or have other international opportunities.
At this point I've applied to UNC - Kenan Flagler and Georgetown - McDonough. After visiting both I loved the facilities and location (urban and in a good job market) of McDonough, but at UNC I really liked the learning atmosphere and all of the students, faculty, and administrators that I met. Really if you could put Kenan-Flagler on the McDonough campus I think you'd have one of the best B-Schools in the country. I'll also qualify for in-state tuition at Kenan-Flagler which is a huge plus.
Other schools I'm considering applying to are Ross (a bit of stretch for my profile I think) and Kellogg (seemingly a huge stretch). Based on my future career goals and what I'm looking for in a school (friendly, international opportunities, in a fun area, and near a major market). Does anyone have any other schools that they would suggest I look into?
Thanks,
