If you have not already looked at it, the employment report might help:

https://www.mba.vt.edu/docs/employment_report.doc

Since this is a very small program with its graduates concentrated in one region, it is difficult to compare with the nationally and internationally recognized programs. Note, however, that the percentage of students employed at graduation is often low and the starting salary is relatively low as well (although this in part reflects the low cost of living of the region). In this sense it is outclassed by virtually all of the near elite schools.

It is interesting to compare the recruiter list with that of Wake Forest/Babcok.

Guys,

I thought I would give my input. I know that most recruiter that come to Tech for MBA students are consulting companies, often from Richmond/Salem/NOVA. I don't think the average salary is accurate though - 2 of my friends got their MBAs at Tech and are making 90s or close working for consulting companies... I guess it also depends on your previous experience. I know some other people who are at Tech doing their MBA who NEVER have worked - which obviously will hurt their chances at a good salary coming out...

I think if you come in with a strong background and want to work in the consulting/finance business... and go to a low cost/with a world-wide ranking or about 60 - this is the place to go!

PS - Tech won't be ranked this year because not enough students turned in their surbeys... number apparently for those who turned in their surveys were as good if not better than the previous year.

I don't like the location but the program is reasonable.
