Here's more on some of the events of the past five years or so at Concordia, and how they have affected Concordia's international reputation as well as the willingness of companies to recruit on campus:

Official university article about the fall 2001 recall of the student union following efforts to "ban" certain companies from campus - specifically from job fairs - because they disagreed with some of their business practices

CTV's coverage of the fall 2002 Netanyahu riots

That's just a few - if you run a search you can get a better idea of the latest happenings. Another good source is the main campus newsletter, The Link.

As I said, things have gotten better since I graduated in 2002. And most grad students won't be directly involved in the politics anyway, unless they choose to. But from personal experience, I can tell you that many businesses have a very poor opinion of Concordia because of its extensive negative media coverage surrounding these and other events.
