I subscribed to Egmat in Jan and I increased my Verbal score from 35 to 40.
Egmat is a excellent course which helps you understand concepts in an easy and simplified manner.
The sentence correction is the best part of Egmat. They pulled me from 20th percentile to the 95th percentile. They do that by making you concentrate on the meaning rather than being parochially confined to the rules,This helps you see the big picture.
In the critical reasoning part,They make you pre-think and focus on the assumption...These things again help you have a structured process and also help you do the question in lesser time.
Reading comprehension I did on my own.
Apart from that their concept of Thakt time also helped a lot.

Holistic approach for GMAT verbal preparation

E-GMAT Verbal online is a amazing piece of resource as far as verbal preparation in concerned. It talks about the same rule which are available in other resources , but in a very methodical audio visual way.You might find these rules in other preparation resources scattered here and there. But this course has a methodical way of representing grammar rules , first theory, then ability quiz then OG questions related to the topic. The analysis provided to each of the question is also invaluable. These analysis are pretty close to a level which I am very familiar with.I feel the explanation provided in OG for SC is meant for a person having an masters in english , or in a very complex way.
The CR section is also presented in a concise manner. All the rules are in place which you may find in powerscore CR.But if you are in a hurry or have lack of patience to complete a long book, you may try audio visual videos of eGMAT.You may finish all the concepts along with practice in a very short span of time.
Last but the heaviest , the scholaranium. This provides great practice for all three sections of verbal. Some of the analytics vital are not seen in any other test.It provides a tool to improve in every section by sectional tests. These tests algorithm quickly points your weaker sections.
This course also opens access to eGMAT forums where you may find lot of detailed analysis of particular question.I would recommend this course to everyone unless you are a verbal ninja.

Excellent Course for the non-natives

Hi Everyone,
I am a non-native test taker, In my first attempt in Dec'2015, my score was Q48 V20, that time I wasn't prepared much, over that there was big dilemma in my head about how to approach the questions properly. Well I would say I prepared hard, going through several books several times, completed OG'12 and OG'13. But without the right strategy in my head, I failed big time in my first attempt , my break up for the score was Q48, V20, AWA 4.5 and IR 6. I know its really a bad score, but I also realized that I prepared really hard for it. Then it struck me, What I lacked was a proper guidance and strategy to attempt the question. I googled about different approaches and different strategies, and planned to purchase a course specifically focusing on verbal section.I attended two different sessions conducted by e-GMAT team, one was for the strategy hosted by Rajat and another was focused on SC hosted by Payal. The sessions were so informative and helpful in devising the correct strategy to attack questions . I purchased their online course, I started my course with a single aim of improving my Verbal score and learn. They have videos for each of the sections.
For SC , I improved the most, I attended few more live sessions for SC and they made me realize how important and equally easy it is. They have broken down all the sub section s and in short videos of about 15-20 min each I learned as much as possible. They also had pre and post assessment quiz, which was really helpful for me to decide which parts I should focus more.
For RC, I believe after OG they have the best content. The passages were pretty much in line with the ones that appear in GMAT. Their strategy for RC was quite simplified and very helpful in increasing the accuracy.
For CR, Their sessions were really helpful. They taught about all the types of questions that appear on GMAT, and how to approach each on of them,They not only focused on how to choose the right answer but also how to eliminate the wrong ones. This is a really helpful approach to confirm the correct answer.
Another great part of their content is scholarinium, it is section where one can attempt the section wise quiz or the sub-section wise quiz. They have a lot of variety of questions and it really helps to keep the track of progress.
for any doubt they also have forum where people discuss their doubts, and the guides help them out. That really helps in understanding where I was going wrong.
In all I would say that they have an excellent , well-structured course, Though my Verbal score in GmatPrep Tests were really good, I lost my calmness in the real exam, and my score went bad. But my overall score improved.
They really focus on the basics and make the process a lot simplified.

E-gmat helps to fulfill all I need to improve my scores! The Verbal online courses gave the experience to learn different exercises in several sections of reading comprehension, critical reasoning and sentence correction. For me, the reading comprehension was the most difficult part to understood and to achieve higher scores, after all the videos watched and exercise practiced in E-gmat verbal section I got a full comprehension of the reading part, and I was able to achieve 80% of correct exercises. In addition, the sentence correction sections help me to improve my scores, giving me important tips to achieve great scores. Furthermore, critical reasoning exercises were extremely important to contribute with my scores. E-gmat is an important tool and well-structured to support the Gmat students.

Loved every part of it. Amazing course specially for non-natives. Specially loved the structured approach of the whole course and testing at very step of the preparation.
SC: SC rules are very comprehensive. You can solve any official problem using the techniques taught. After going through a few time you can easily remember the rules. Grammatical jargaon has been kept away.
CR: Pre thinking is the key. Divided very equally and is great for practise and improving your overall accuracy.
RC: Good techniques specially for non-natives. Step by step each thing is very clearly taught and explained.
Overall I would give it a thumbs up. A five start course. You don;t need anything else once you take this course.

Helped me score from 49 to a perfect 51. Each and every section is very well divided and organised. Whole course is divided into 5 major sections. Every section has individual topics. Each topic will have a separate test. Every topic also has a advanced test which is very useful if you're aiming for a high score. I was at 49 and never thought I could get 51. I only managed to score 50 in all my mocks. But e-gmat quant is definately tougher than the actual quant and if you practise this you'll definately get a very good score in actual score. A must have.

HI Rohit,
Was it a Quant Live course taught by a tutor or was it an online Quant course that you enrolled in?

I took the full live course that includes classes as well. Let me clarify, you mentioned: Quant Live course "taught" by a tutor. The Quant live course is not really "taught". Classes are more like solving a few questions together with an instructor. I didn't found classes much helpful as there's very little you can do in Quant in terms of approach (or may be I felt so because I was already at 49). All the best

Pros:
1. Provides a very well structured study plan with concepts and quizzes for each section. (This may be useful for anyone who lacks discipline)
2. Comes with free mock exams that can generate performance analytical reports. (However, the timer doesn't work well, leading to wrong timings of your response time)
3. The e-GMAT time was kind enough to extend my course when I couldn't finish it in time. (The login was valid for about 6 months and they extended it for 2 months)

Cons:
1. Repetition in both contents and methods. I completed the whole course and took notes diligently. At the end I found some similar notes appeared multiple times--some contents were repeated here and there. The few e-GMAT methods used to solve Verbal questions were heavily repeated.

2. Methods don't work. In theory they sound good. But after studying the course for 8 months, I found these methods very time consuming and mentally draining in practice. They just don't work well in mock/real GMAT exams.

3. The course is very inflexible. This inflexibility, coupled with the fact that the course is extremely content heavy, makes it very time consuming to finish the whole course. It took me 8 months to finish (I work full time). I can't control my pace. Some contents are easy for me and repeated too much. The repetition plus sheer volume of contents buries the important areas which I may be weak at. It feels as if you read a whole library of books within 8 months. At the end, your mind goes blank. Maybe you remember a little here and there but nothing stands out. ROI is just so low: you spent so much time reaping so little improvement in your verbal skills.

My improvement in Verbal

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Improvement 80 Points

I am a latin-american, so a non-native student. Since I studied engineering, the Quant part didn't seem as difficult as the Verbal section.

Even though I am not finished the course, i have just reserved the GMAT test for the first week of November. I was stuck in Verbal (27-31), but E-gmat verbal online has just unlock my score and wanted to share this with all the students who may be in the same situation.

I started to study from some books and practicing with the official bank of questions of the GMAT, for both the quant a verbal sections, and after a couple of months I took a Mock with the official GMATPrep, obtaining 630 (M49, V27). It was confusing, in one hand I was happy to easily see 49 in the quant section, but was shocked to see that I was under the mean in the verbal. I continued practicing and took two other mocks, but I was unable to improve my verbal ability over the 31 score. My greatest weaknesses came from Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning (in RC obtained 41). It was very frustrating.

Then I started to read from experiences of other test takers and found out that it was quite usual, they said that you cannot improve more only with "brute force", you need an approach. Then a friend from my job recommended me the E-GMAT Online course.

First, I discovered that a video course is way more effective than books, I really liked the graphics.

Second, the general approach is based on structure (SC, CR, RC-I am still finishing this one). This, for an engineer like me, was something that talked in my language, it makes a huge difference.

The Sentence Correction approach is very different from what I was doing before. It is focused on developing your ability by first centered in Understanding the Meaning, second structure, third learning to identify all the mistakes of a Sentence before going to the answer choices. This new approach is a complete change in how I understood each question, because I learnt to identify every type of question and discarding answer choices started to seem easier.

The Critical Reasoning also helped me a lot. It is centered in understanding completely the arguments, and after in Pre-Thinking solutions. This pre-thinking process made me understand the direction of the line of reasoning of the arguments. Another feature that helped me a lot was the typologies of correct and incorrect answers for every type of question.

After completing the SC and CR in that order, I just have taken a mock from GMATPrep, obtaining 710 (M48, V38). Watching the 700+ was a huge relief for me, more if the improvement on the Verbal was so dramatic. I took some quizzes only of Verbal and saw the same score (38-39), confirming my improvement. So I decided to write a review for those who are experiencing the same frustration of being stuck in the early 30s of the verbal.

Well, this is all I want to share by now, hope to write a happy new review in November just after the test, but by now I definitely recommend the E-GMAT online course for all students struggling with the Verbal.

As a student of EGMAT, who has taken Verbal Online, I felt significant improvement in my score. The conceptual clarity that EGMAT provides is unparalleled and is undeniably helps someone get a great Verbal score. Not only is the content great but also the teaching plan is top notch. Following the SC plan really helped. The EGMAT Verbal online SC itself is a great product. Even CR is above average, but I won’t recommend RC, since it is similar to what everybody else teaches. Also the video method suited me since it was easy for me to stay at home and see the videos whenever I wanted to brush up any concept.
