I got the Veritas GMAT CATs on submitting my GMAT Prep screenshot as a promotion they were running. I had scored 730 on GMATPrep1.

When i attempted the first test, i was set back with the result - 650. Admittedly, i had prepared for only a month and I had another month and half to my exam date, but 650 felt too low.

I continued working and taking the Veritas tests at regular intervals. I never crossed 700. Panicky, i took tests from Manhattan (scores ranging from 710 - 740) Economist (710) and the GMATPreps (730, 760, 770, 760)

I scored 750 on the real thing, on a day when i know i made a few mistakes in quant.

Overall, my evaluation is that the Veritas algorithm is very harsh - it punishes you severely if you get 2 wrong in a row. The quality of the questions in teh verbal section wasnt impressive either.

I bought the Veritas Prep Test series as a part of my preparation for GMAT. My experience has been really good but I would want to highlight the big boon and a few misses.
I enjoyed a lot the Veritas Prep. I saw a deal posted somewhere and felt the cost was worth a try.

The questions simulate very well the overall GMAT experience. In my opinion, the questions were less difficult than the Manhattan test, and all my scores on Veritas were 10 to 30 points higher then my final GMAT score.

The system is good, works as you would expect.
Positives:
- Unlike MGM, Veritas has moderate level Math questions, this actually helps you retain the level of confidence that you ll end up having in the actual test.
- The question bank is broader than other test platforms. This means that your scores don't get affected by non-availability of questions in the question bank, leading to you scoring extravagantly high.

Negatives:
the test interface is not the best in class. The answer descriptions are small and ambiguous at times. Having said these things, I believe they are not a deal breaker.

I used the veritas tests to prepare for my test. I bought them from a promotion only 19 dollars. They deserve it ! You will get to know how to take the test. Preparation is a lot about taking the test not just about knowledge. With taking these tests you will find out the correct strategy after your 2- 3 first tests. Their scoring algorith is not far from truth but, as for all unofficial tests out there, you should take the score with a pintch of salt.
The algorithm they use on distributing questions is not really great. You wont hear this much but i have seen that they usually give you very hard questions 700-800 level after you answer the 2- 3 first questions right. This is far from truth. The actual gmat doesnt adapt so steeply. The actual gmat will give you such difficult questions later, taking into consideration your performance. What happened(in the quantitative) to me( as being a little proud myself) i wanted to answer all questions correct and with this,i used to spend 3-4 minutes to the hard questions and losing track of time (early in the test). If you want to score high on these tests, (around Q48-49 i mean) you should not spend more than 3 minutes in a difficult question. Get that wrong and the system will give you easier questions. You dont have to solve many 700 level questions in these test to get a Q51. You can do it with a high accuracy on a little easier questions.
However, the actual test is not like that. You will see many normal questions before you start getting the really hard ones.
Dont overstress with the results of these tests. They are good, use them in the learning process. The only good measures of your level are the official tests and what else, the gmat itself.
Overall, good and cheap choice.

I bought the Veritas Prep Test series as a part of my preparation for GMAT.
Quant: The questions are above average diffulty than actual GMAT. A typical 600-650 question could be labeled as a 550-600 or 500-550 question. My advice is to just ignore the scores or the question difficulty and use these tests to chalk out improvement areas.
Verbal: The question difficulty was at par with the actual GMAT. The SC questions were good for concept clarity. However, the CR and RC felt very vague. The answer explanations were not clear and left doubts about the right answer choice.
Overall:
The test interface needs lots of improvement.
The tests punishes you severely for few consecutive wrong answers.
The scoring algorithm needs improvement.
Advice: Use these tests for practice and improving the weak areas.

Veritas CATs good for quant

I wrote the GMAT in March and got a 680 with a Q45. I ran out of time at the end and had to guess the last 7 questions. I failed to submit the last question on time.
I always thought I could do much better in quant and so I have decided to work on my exam technique. I purchased the Veritas CATs and have found them very useful especially for quant. The questions are very challenging and the solutions offer some alternative approaches that could assist with getting to the answer faster. They also offer a detailed analysis of your performance so you can see where exactly you went wrong, where you wasted time, with types of questions are challenging you the most etc.

I would recommend Veritas CATs for those looking to improve an ace their quant!!

Hi, I am preparing for Veritas Prep. I have prepared from their free DS PDF book and it was really good. I have enrolled for their test series during a sale event from them. I am not at all disappointed with their tests. They are very good with excellent quality of questions along with test analysis.
I suggest everyone to definetly try Veritas Test Series as they give lot of insights into your prep. The tests can be little more difficult than the actual exam but thats the whole point of attempting mock tests to prepare for the hardest scenario in the actual exam.

i have taken recently the Veritasprep 7 mock test .
They offer good deal time to time, so keep an eye on your mailbox or gmatclub flashboard.
I got them in $10.....wooohoo..!!

I like their test analysis part that shows as per the difficulty level, time taken for easiest to difficult.

Thats really great to have analysed your preparation.

You can cross verify your analysis with given explainations but i would really like to raise a point that in some question i found their analysis a bit confusing... so better use examples in place of wordy explaination ( a suggestion from your subscriber)

But it is must to have during your gmat prep.

Pros:

Solid quant sections with above average difficulty. They range their questions in a different fashion from GMATClub or GMATPrep. For example, a typical 600-650 question could be labeled as a 550-600 or 500-550 question in veritas prep. This could pose a problem for people with low confidence. My advice is to ignore the scores or the question difficulty and use these tests to figure out weak areas

Cons: The verbal is atrocious. The RC and CR questions just don't feel right and often require more time than normal GMAT questions. SC, while not the same 'feel' as GMAT questions, does a good job of preparing you with various grammatical errors and situations. I did find a few questions that felt more ambiguous and I know I could make a solid argument for one answer over the correct one. Usually the GMAT just eliminates those questions so there is no headache but alas they are in the Veritas Prep tests.

I agree. I gave a Veritas test and got good amount of questions correct in a row but still all 500-550 or 550-600 level questions. So are these questions tougher than they are labeled? Because I saw on GMAT Club that some people found these tests tougher than the GMAT Prep tests and it made me think whether they are really tough if the tests are just throwing easier questions in a row.

Veritas tests are awesome. They offer thousands of realistic questions that have been validated using Item Response Theory and a powerful computer adaptive testing algorithm that closely matches that of the real exam. I have attempted real gmat exam and i can see that their quant section is very much similar to real exam. Not too tough but tricky. Their verbal section is also good especially Cr and Rc. I will highly recommend these tests. try at least one mock each week and revise mistakes. If you are scoring 750 then it is most likely that your real exam score will range from 710 to 770. I have tried other tests too, but i found these very helpful

I got a decent deal to buy 7 CATs for 10$.
However, the experience has been really disappointing.
Room for improvement: Tests lack consistency and a sound algorithm to calculate scores.
The interface is very different from GMAT.
The interface helps build a sense of familiarity with the test. Kaplan and GMAT Club have done a good job on this front.

Positive aspects: The blessing in disguise could that it prepares you for the situations where you could be caught off-guard, your timing strategies are not working. One will have to adapt to the situation in those cases.

A lot of work to be done to make scoring better and more accurate.
