I see you are based in San Francisco. Not applying to Stanford or Berkeley?

Good observation...

I am a little old for Stanford - will be 30 in a few weeks. Moreover, I don't know many (make that any) Indian engineers at the GSB.

I thought about Haas but left it as a part time option.

I don't plan to pursue consulting or banking out of school. The lower costs at Durham and in-state tuition at UCLA will enable me to stay in the black during school, take some risks and ideally start my own company out of school.

Why Wharton ? Frankly, I wasn't too impressed with Philly and Huntsman hall (good facilities but a lot of people sharing them). But as a future entrepreneur I can't think of a better place to network and learn the nuances of venture capital.

I hope we both get in to Wharton and you have the option to pick Stanford over Wharton.

I feel the same way. I finished NYU (My 6th! application) yesterday. Now the wait begins. After December 21st, I'll decide if I need to make R2/R3 apps to Chicago and maybe INSEAD.

That makes sense. I'm an older candidate as well and I keep going back and forth on Stanford. It seems like a real longshot for me, but I'll probably give it a try.

Well, if we do end up at Wharton, let's have a beer. Good luck for the 21st!

The number of times a day Rhyme visits the school's website, reads his essays and tries to rhyme a rap number based on the course listings.

LHMC, I'm doing the same thing - waiting for Wharton to see if I need to scrape up something for MIT/Kellogg/Chicago

I am thinking Columbia and doing a Consortium app with Tuck, Darden, NYU, and Ross.

I thought about MIT. I thought the literature that they sent out was far and away the best, I am just not sure. I also thought about Kellog, I don't know a whole lot about it, but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me.

Of course all this talk could easily be alleviated by an Admit from Chi or W.

What is a "Consortium app"? Do they have a joint/common admissions process?

Yes, they do have a joint app. I posted about it a few days ago. I post is even titled "Consortium", it's not for everyone, but if it fits your circumstances then it makes everything much easier.
