Hi seueth,

I'd like to know the individual Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on EACH of your CATs (not the range; the exact scores), so we can see if there's a pattern in your performances, any outliers, etc. Also, what 'brand' of CATs were these?

Your quants scores look good. However to reach to 730+, you need to increase your score on the Verbal part.
With close to one month in our hands, the best way forward would be to figure out your pain areas and then drill down deep.
Understand the types of problems that trouble you and then work towards improving them by going to the fundamentals again.

SC: The questions test various concepts such as S-V agreement, modifiers, parallelism etc. Find out what troubles you.
CR: There might be certain types of questions that are troubling you. May be Assumption, may be conclusion, inference etc.
You need to find that out and then practice them
RC: This again can be drilled down into different types of questions and also different topics. See what questions and topics trouble you the most and then practice accordingly.

As an addition, start preparing an error log and keep a note of all the mistakes you made and the lessons you learnt from the problems. This will ensure you do not make the same mistake again.

Make sure you complete all of the OG and the Verbal review and if required, you can buy the Question pack1 from mba.com

Hi Rich
Thanks for your reply.
Please see the reply to the questions:
1) How long have you studied?
- It has been 3 months since i started prepping.
2) What materials have you used?
- I have been using the OG, and Manhattan Strategy Guides for SC and CR
3) How have you scored on each of your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
- 710 in my first and 680 in the subsequent three.
When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
- Yes I do the AWA and IR also.
2) Did you take them at home?
- Yes at Home.
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
- Yes.
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
- No, rather was distracted by a call or Mom popping in the room.
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?
- No, did not repeat a CAT, though I go through the answers after the exam, and redo the wrong answers without checking the solutions.

Regards
Seueth

Hi seueth,

At your score level, the GMAT becomes really 'sensitive' to little mistakes - if you make too many, than a 700+ score is simply impossible to achieve. I'd like to know a bit more about your studies so far and how you took your CATs:

I took the mocks from kaplan prep, veritas prep and economist gmat prep.

Hi seueth,

It appears that you haven't taken any of the Official GMAC CATs yet, so I suggest that you take one of those CATs in as realistic a fashion as possible (so take the FULL CAT, away from your home, at the same time of day as your Official GMAT, etc.). With that score, we can drill-down a bit into the types of questions that you're getting wrong and WHY you're getting them wrong.
