I am going to be very candid here with my opinion. ISB has become somewhat of a mass school in recent years due to the number of students it graduates. The PGP programs at IIM A and B are quite selective and targeted in terms of who they admit and graduate. There has historically been a lot of confusion about where PGPs stand with respect to PGDM (the two-year MBA programs in India). I hope this post will make it clear once and for all. The two-year IIM MBAs are meant for people with very little or no experience. They cannot be compared to the opportunities offered by PGPs (the one-year MBA programs at IIM A and B).

The two-year MBA programs were initially considered equivalent to MiM programs, but I think it was only after 2017 that IIMs could confer actual MBA degrees instead of PGDMs. IIM A's PGPX program has been the driving force behind its global ranking since 2006, if I’m not mistaken. No recruiters in their right minds would pay the same salaries to 22-23-year-olds as they would to graduates of PGPs. Therefore, this comparison stems from ignorance and a lack of branding efforts on the part of IIM A and B, and nothing else.

Best wishes

Hello people. I have an admit from IIMB EPGP. I have not applied to ISB yet.
A lot of people say EPGP or PGPX are not the flagship programs, therefore better to choose ISB for 1 yr MBA. I want to understand if the recruiters also view ISB as a bigger brand 2-3 yrs post mba?
Should I apply to ISB or stick with IIMB EPGP?
I have total 8 years work exp in Central Govt (6) and PSU (2). I will be looking for consulting or finance roles post MBA
