I just downloaded the gmatter software at https://www.gmatter.biz

thanks Giovanni_IT

I was curious about how effective these 1000's are? i.e. compared to the OG.

Thanks.

i am pretty sure the 1000 files are just bootlegs ripped off from every source imaginable (OGs, Princeton Review, online CATs, Kaplan book etc...) I never used them, but that is my assumption. (I doubt someone designed a bunch of grammar questions for free distribution on the net... )

so I'd say the effectiveness will vary with the quality of the source it was ripped off from (ie. Kaplan CR sucks, so some of the question in CR 1000s will suck) There are bound to be some mistakes in transcription but hey you get what you pay for right.

i think GMATTER's usefullness comes in the fact that you are practicing on a computer, as opposed to the books... which believe it or not makes a difference; especially for us older folks (i.e. 25 years old+). us older fogies still read books and write words on paper, and more importantly we are used to taking tests on paper... so there is a bit of a handicap for us. GMATTER forces you to do all your prep on the computer so it can help overcome this handicap.
