Thank you for the question. I believe you’re still at spot number four regardless of Kinshook’s choice of prizes.

He did not drop out of the competition, he just refused the prize that he received as a person in the third spot.

So I think ranking of the competition is a bit different from order of prizes.

bb Right, but if his points are made null or anything lesser here since he opted out, Team Santa would still be in rank 1 spot right? And i would have been in rank 3 spot in Team Santa which would have gotten me the 3rd choice in the prize list ranking. Thus the dilemma which is still present here.

Nothing changed with the points rank or position of Kinshook. He just generously donated his prize.
The fact that a runner chose not to accept a medal or was not at the award ceremony does not erase their result. It is not like one is required to accept the prize to win the competition. That's impossible as you have to win the competition first in order to accept or decline the prize. You sure you solved your CR's right?

I agree nothing changed with points rank or position of Kinshook, but since its a team game things do change here since the first 3 prizes are given based on team points. Participants could just participate for the sake of the competition like this case here and cause confusion by denying the prizes.For instance if the top 3 rankers (A,B,C) in the winning team altogether deny taking the prize and if it goes to 4th 5th and 6th placers (D,E,F) in the total ranking system, then wouldnt the 4th 5th and 6th place ranked people (X,Y,Z) in the winning team be wronged here since if the top 3 people (A,B,C) werent present at all and the winning team still won, they would have been in the top 3(X,Y,Z) and won the prize regardless if (D,E,F) were ahead in points . Previous year too, the prize was denied but the issue didnt arise since the top 3 of the winning team condition wasnt met and he wasnt in it which didnt change the order of the prizes, but this time it did. Its an exception which has occured with respect to the team aspect because of the top3 condition.

As for the CR part, I would say I still struggle with it the most compared to other parts haha. But it is what it is, its a slow grind to learn it.

At the end of the day, its upto the moderators, so do wrap this up however you deem fit after considering it all, but would be great if the exception cases are considered in the next event to avoid possible confusion in the future for the participants and the mods.
