Workshop (W) ---------------------------------------------- Monitoring station (MS)

Speed from W to MS = 45 kmph
let time taken from W to MS = t

Time taken from MS to W = 6 hrs

(1) Total distance given is 180 km.
We know speed from W to MS is 45 kmph. By formula Time = Distance / Speed
Time = 180/45 = 4 hrs
Therefore, statement 1 alone is sufficient.

(2) One way distance is 45 x t. Total distance would be 2 x 45t
Average speed = Total distance / total time taken

36 = 2 x 45t / 6 + t
36 (6 + t) = 2 x 45t
Solving the above, t = 4 hours.
Hence the statement 2 alone is sufficient.

Answer - both statements alone are sufficient

Statement 1 => The distance from the workshop to the monitoring station is 180 kms.

Time to reach = 180/45 = 6 hours = Sufficient
Statement 2 =>

Let one way distance = d => total distance = 2d
Total time = d/45+6

Average speed = 2d/(d/45+6) = 36 => upon solving = d=> 180
Time to reach = 180/45 = 4hours => Sufficient

So, both statements alone are sufficient => D

Hello,
as per statement 1 we ar egiven distance then we can calculate the time,
so statemnet 1 is suffciient

As per statemnet 2
we are given the average speed
so we can calculate the distance and hence time
it is also sufficient

Hence D is answer
