(1) Every student not enrolled in Biology is not enrolled in Chemistry

This implies the contrapositive that every student who is enrolled in Chem is also enrolled in Bio.

Therefore, (1) is sufficient

(2) This statement basically states the contrapositive concluded in (1) so this is sufficient too.

Therefore, (D) each statement alone is sufficient
