Thanks for the replies prior to my exam. Needless to say, I am now thoroughly confused. As I previously mentioned in my post 4 days prior to my exam, I had been scoring roughly 690 average MGMAT, and the two GMAT CAT tests I scored 640 and 710.

My official score....540... Q 35, V 29.

Both well below what I had been practicing. Obviously, I cannot submit an application with that score (my plan is EWMBA Haas). So, I have to take it again. However, I am somewhat at a loss on how to proceed with studying...?? I have GMAT Hacks Quant section (something new that I didnt use previously), and plan on going through the remaining 25 Q tests on this site. Any advice?????? Would be GREATLY appreciated. I have all the MGMAT guides, as well as the Official 12th Edition. Should I find a new verbal prep book?????

FYI;: I have two great letters of recommendation: 1 from a former boss, and one from my current manager. I know the 80% band for EWMBA Haas is 640 to 750, so my target was obviously in that range.

Again,.....how to proceed for the GMAT, once again, ????? Review all the MGMAT books again? Go over the official guide with a fine tooth comb? Help.....

Casey hard luck, but as you said- "down, but not out...".
It is seriously hard to believe you scored 540, I mean look at all your practice scores...Did you had a panic attack or something? I remember when I gave my GMAT I got stuck on an easy quant problem and I went into the panic mode as a result I really messed up my GMAT, I scored a bad 560 back then. I'm reappearing sometime soon, but I wasn't well prepared too in fact my GMAT preps were 560 and 590.

Yup. Actually got a 540....Needless to say, I was/am thoroughly confused considering my practice tests.....Such a huge variance from the actual exam is making me guess at how to approach my 2nd attempt. I know that MGMAT books are highly recommended, so I will go through those again, however, I'm not sure where else to proceed..??????

Any advice/guidance is greatly appreciated!

Also, how do I 'reset' the official GMAT prep tests? And if I do, are all the questions the same??

Casey,

Sorry to hear about the unexpected score.

What was the deviation from your raw scores for each section? If a particular section really brought down your score on the actual test, you can structure your studying based on that.

Did you do any of the AWA essays prior to your practice tests? Fatigue could have also had an impact on you.
