Hi gmatboy79,

Using this first CAT score as a 'baseline' score, you have a lot of work to do to hit your score goal. The good news is that it's not impossible; the bad news is that it's going to take some serious time (and effort on your part).

I have a couple of additional question (and the more specific that you can be with your answers, the better):

1) What specific resources have you used during your studies?
2) What are the exact application deadlines for the School(s) that you're planning to apply to?

You're likely going to need 3 months of consistent, focused study, so you're likely going to need to invest in a GMAT Course of some type (either Guided Self-Study or Instructor-Led). During this time, you'll likely need to put in 10-15 hours per week (or more) into the process.

As far as the immediate issue is concerned (whether you should keep your current GMAT appointment or not and what you should do about the score result), you should take the GMAT for the experience. You should also keep the score on record - it will be useful later on if we need to analyze it for the numbers/data. Having that score will NOT hurt your applications later.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
