Hi!

As the subject already says, just two days to the exam, so that I can't really learn much more.
I did the GMAT already 2 year ago and had a score of 620 on a day where I wasn't able to concentrate.

Now, I prepared quite long time. My problem however was that I probably had the wrong preparation strategy. I started with practicing tons of Q's and CAT and only after I saw, that I don't improve that much, I worked through all MGMAT guides.
Since then I only had limited practice.
Before I worked through the Manhattan stuff, I had scores around 640-660. 2 days ago, I did the GMATPrep and scored 720. And yesterday everything started to blow up! I did the GMATFoucs and scored only 36-44. I have NEVER scored that low. This was due to my lack of concentration as I didn'T sleep scine 30+ hours. So today I did the second GMATFocus and only scored 45-49... (my aim is ~720 with Q49+ and V37).
Now I just finished my second GMATPrep with 620!!!! this was partly due to stupid mistakes and to really bad time management. But I didn't had the feeling, that I was doing that bad. I think especially the time management for the verbal section will continue to be a problem.
But I think, that in general, I am able to score 700+, but only with perfect concentration and time management (and maybe some luck)

I actually need to do the GMAT on Friday due to an application deadline. But I'm not sure what to do because a GMAT below 700 would worthless and I don't know if it is good to have a second 600er score on my report! Otherwise, I Would relax and give it a try".
Right now I'm feeling like I try another MGMAT Test tomorrow morning and then decide what to do....
Will the report also show, that i canceled one appointment?

I am sooo devastated by the last 2 days!!! I really don't know what to do!! Any opinions would be highly appreciated.

well some people here might tell you gmatprep is probably the most accurate score estimator since it is from the company. if you cancel you wont get refunded but i doubt it is a strike against you since you didnt take it then not report it. I would probably just take it and if i feel really bad i can cancel it...

In GMAT panic efficiency doesn't yield results and it does more harm, so relax and focus on what you've done so far revise the concepts and take the real test. Dont burn out with another practice test.

As shaselai mentioned give your best shot and in case you do not end up doing well you can always decline your score. Although it would counted as an attempt, with scores not reported, it's better than losing out on 250$ altogether. Just regain your confidence level and you never know you may just crack the 700 barrier on the test day :)

Thanks for the advice!

I'm not sure anymore, if I am still able to accurate rate my performance... Maybe I should try to keep track how many Q's I guessed and review how my time-management was to decide, if I want to report my score or not.....

it is also dependent on your personality. If you got some high scores and think you wont get any lower then yeah the lower score will be devastating. But i think if you go with "whatever happens happens" mindset it could relieve the stress a bit. I think that's one reason i try not to take anymore CATs towards the test day but instead work on problems so i cant feel depressed or too excited on testday over a practice CAT..

My advise would be to have a good night's sleep for 8 hours today. Wake up with a fresh mind and take a practice test. Hope you will gain your confidence again.
You would be surprised to see how relaxed you will be once you have enough sleep. Don't think too much on these 2 days results. You did perform great before these 2 days.

Hey,
Thanks again for the support! So, here my GMAT exp.
Fist of all, my score... 710 (Q 49, V 37). I am pretty happy with that score, especially as my performance during the test was not perfect and I partially had pretty bad times with lack of concentration...
One bad thing was, that during the last 5 Q's of the Quant section, I ran of of paper. There was no instructor in the room (they "watched" via video cam), but they didn't recognized my waving like hell!!! So this preety bad impacted my performance on the last Q-question :-( this is especially bad since the programme I'm applying to is suggesting to have a Q score in the 90% and I "only" scored 87%.... Does it make any sense to file a complaint?
With the V score I am really happy!
So thanks again for your support and motivation, finally with the bad exp. the last days I was really please so see a 700er score :-)

great stuff congrats!
Since you took it around same time i did and your quant is the same as mine... did you see that weird triangle problem with 2-3 equilateral triangles with a rectangle and another triangle on top of them? I had no idea how to do that one!
